How it works (TLDR) Most hacks are performed in several steps (Funding, Preparation, Hack, Money Laundering). We focus on detecting the upcoming hacks during the first two steps (Funding and Preparation). During the Preparation phase, a hacker deploys a malicious smart contract with all the logic of the exploit. Spotter looks for the new contracts in the mempool, analyzes them, and triggers security responses for the detected risks.
